Celebrating ANZAC Day in 2020 – “Driveway at Dawn”

Among the many ideas about for celebrating ANZAC Day this year, this one is well worth adopting.

Due to COVID-19, ANZAC Day commemorations will be different in 2020.

The idea is that we commemorate at home by walking to the the end of their driveway on the street (no letter boxes in Berrima) at 0555 on ANZAC morning and light a candle.

Reflect in minute of silence on the sacrifice of our servicemen and women in wars and areas of conflict.

THE ODE
They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun, and in the morning
We will remember them.

Invite your neighbours to participate in this community commemoration of ANZAC Day this Saturday by distributing the invitations posted here to you neighbours and friends.

Making lanterns can be a fun affair for the whole family this week. Just cut down a milk container and paint red Flanders poppies on the side, light up the lantern with a tee candle and place on your driveway at Dawn on ANZAC morning.
