$1,000 Donation to Berrima Rural Fire Service

Today, the Association’s Treasurer, Conor Lynch, handed over a cheque for $1,000 to Jed Poll, Captain of the Berrima Volunteer Rural Fire Brigade at the Brigade’s station in Wilkinson Street Berrima.

This year’s bushfire season was the most intense and personally traumatic for communities across the Southern Highlands, certainly in living memory. The Berrima Brigade fought fires across the region for weeks protecting our communities from disaster. Our donation to the local Brigade is an expression of our sincere thanks and gratitude to all the members of our Brigade who struggled valiantly on our behalf.

Thank you.

It’s an understatement to say that a lot has happened since the rains started, lightly at first then in a deluge from Tuesday 4 February.

The images below testify to the shocking December and January we endured.
